Deadly Motorcycle Crash on Volta Road in Merced County

 
MERCED COUNTY, CA (November 19, 2024) — One person died in a motorcycle accident on Volta Road near Highway 152.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle crash happened around 7:15 p.m. Sunday. Authorities determined that a driver of a southbound 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck tried turning left into a driveway. However, the Los Banos man riding the 2020 Suzuki motorcycle in the opposite direction crashed into the Chevrolet.
 
The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries in the accident. The 32-year-old Los Banos man driving the Chevrolet did not.
 
Authorities confirmed that neither drugs nor alcohol factored into the crash. However, they are investigating this case further.
