Fatal Big Rig Crash on McCall Avenue in Selma

 
SELMA, CA (December 4, 2024) — One person died in a semi-truck accident on McCall Avenue and Parlier Avenue.
 
The fatal truck accident happened in Fresno County Tuesday morning. During severe foggy weather, a northbound big rig, hauling a large flatbed trailer, passed an intersection devoid of a stop sign and struck the front end of a Chevy pickup heading westbound on Parlier Avenue. Subsequently, the semi-truck dragged the pickup about 100 feet before the truck burst into flames.
 
Moments later, paramedics and authorities arrived and found the seriously injured pickup driver, who was ejected from the vehicle. Tragically, that individual passed away.
 
A bystander pulled a female from the pickup with moderate injuries, and the semi-truck driver was unharmed.
 
Although California Highway Patrol authorities ruled out DUI as a likely factor, they believe foggy weather played a part.
