38-Year-Old Oxnard Man Dead after Three-Vehicle Accident on Moorpark Road

 
MOORPARK, CA (January 23, 2023) – A 38-year-old Oxnard man died in a three-vehicle accident on Moorpark Road, Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on January 20, at about 6:30 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a northbound white Honda Accord crossed over the double yellow lines.
 
Then, the Honda collided head-on with a southbound gray Jeep Cherokee. The impact of the collision caused the Honda to spin and hit a southbound Chevrolet Traverse near Tierra Rejada Road.
 
Meanwhile, the Jeep went down a nearby embankment.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the Honda driver dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Responders transported the Jeep driver to a local hospital for treatment of a broken leg and other major injuries.
 
As per reports, the Chevrolet driver did not sustain injuries.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident.
