1 Hurt After School Bus, Cars Collide at Homer Avenue in Palo Alto
PALO ALTO, CA (December 17, 2024) — One person suffered moderate injuries in a school bus accident at Homer Avenue and Middlefield Road.
According to reports, the multi-car collision happened around 8:04 a.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a school bus carrying three children collided with a gray Subaru and a red Hyundai. One person not riding on the school bus suffered minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, neither student on board the bus claimed any injuries.
According to an investigation, the school bus and Subaru drivers said they had a green traffic light on Homer Avenue. However, the Hyundai driver also said that his or her light was green when traveling on Middlefield Road.
Currently, the California Highway Patrol has not confirmed the fault; however, if any witnesses would like to help traffic investigators, contact local authorities.
Slow down at intersections when approaching the area. Check both ways before entering and prepare to stop for any red-light runners. Do not try and beat a green light if time does not permit. Remember to drive carefully and responsibly to avoid the risks.
