Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Donovan Road in Santa Maria

 
SANTA MARIA, CA (January 20, 2025) — One person died in a motorcycle accident on Donovan Road near Western Avenue Friday morning.
 
According to the Santa Maria Police Department, the fatal motorcycle crash happened just before 1:00 a.m. While possibly traveling at a high rate of speed, a westbound motorcyclist struck a car turning from Western Avenue onto Donovan Road.
 
Moments later, Santa Maria Fire and paramedics arrived at the scene and found the 33-year-old victim on the ground and unresponsive. The individual passed away minutes after the crash.
 
According to an investigation, the motorcycle rider may have been speeding while heading westbound. Officials have not informed the next of kin, thus withholding the name.
