1 Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on 1st Street in Beaumont

 
BEAUMONT, CA (October 21, 2024) — A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run accident on 1st Street near Beaumont Avenue Tuesday night.
 
According to the Beaumont Police Department, the deadly hit-and-run happened around 11:00 p.m. Authorities believe that a suspect in a pickup truck deliberately struck the pedestrian in the 400 block of East 1st Street. Subsequently, the driver fled the scene and 30 minutes later became involved in another accident, which drew the authorities to an unincorporated area of Cabazon.
 
After an investigation, officers determined that the suspect was related to the first hit-and-run pedestrian accident that left the male pedestrian deceased and officers at the scene searching for the driver.
 
The Riverside County Fire Department paramedics confirmed the fatality, but the coroner has yet to identify the victim.
