1 Dies in 2-Vehicle Crash at Montgomery Street in Oroville

 
OROVILLE, CA (October 14, 2024) — One person died in a 2-car accident at Montgomery Street and 5th Avenue.
 
The Oroville Police Department said the fatal crash happened on October 12 around 6:00 p.m. Upon responding, Oroville Police found two vehicles involved. According to an investigation, a man operating a Chevrolet pickup truck blew through a stop sign at a high rate of speed. Subsequently, the Chevrolet pickup crashed into a Ford pickup driver who could not stop in time.
 
Minutes later, paramedics responded to the scene and found the unconscious Chevrolet pickup driver who passed away from his severe injuries despite paramedics rendering life-saving measures.
 
The Ford driver and passenger suffered moderate injuries in the crash.
 
Authorities provided no information on the leading cause of the accident and the victim’s name or residence. However, they are still investigating if DUI factored into the cause.
