Fatal Corona Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 71 near 91 Freeway

 
CORONA, CA (August 22, 2022) – One person died in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 71, early Monday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on August 15 at about 2:27 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a Dodge Ram and a Lexus collided on northbound Highway 71 near 91 Freeway.
 
The Dodge Ram reportedly went off the roadway into a ditch.
 
Emergency crews pronounced one victim dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
A second victim sustained injuries but it is unknown if an ambulance was called.
 
As per reports, responders could not locate the drivers involved in the collision. However, investigators did not release additional information about the incident.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash.
