Woman Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Mettler Road in Lodi

 
LODI, CA (January 6, 2025) — A woman died in a pedestrian accident on Mettler Road near West Lane Thursday evening.
 
The California Highway Patrol said the fatal pedestrian crash happened around 5:30 p.m. For an unknown reason, the driver of a pickup did not see two women walking on Mettler Road. Subsequently, the driver struck the pedestrians, throwing one woman onto the north shoulder and the other onto the pavement.
 
The driver immediately stopped and checked on the woman on the road who later died at the scene. The second woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to San Joaquin County General Hospital.
 
Reports did not specify the leading factors of this crash. However, the police said the driver did not see the pedestrians until it was too late.
