1 Dies in Motorcycle Accident on Highway 166 in Cuyama

 
CUYAMA, CA (January 20, 2025) — One person died after a motorcycle crashed on Highway 166 near Chimineas Ranch.
 
According to the Cal Fire captain, the fatal motorcycle accident happened around 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Authorities were investigating what caused a motorcyclist to lose control and crash into a fence on a curve in the road.
 
At least one person on the motorcycle landed on the road. Moments later, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department arrived at the scene and transported one of the severely injured riders to Marian Regional Medical Center. The other motorcyclist, riding on the same bike, passed away in a crash.
 
Officials have not released the identities of the victims.
