High-Speed Crash on 905 Freeway in Otay Mesa Kills One Person and Leaves Another in Critical Condition

 
OTAY MESA, CA (October 23, 2024) – One person was killed in a high-speed rollover crash on 905 Freeway in Otay Mesa Tuesday afternoon on October 22.
 
The fatal crash happened just after 2:20 p.m. at Britannia Boulevard. According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, a car traveling at a high rate of speed when it crashed into a Caltrans truck that was parked on the side of the road. The car then flipped over in the middle of the freeway.
 
As a result of the crash, one person died and another person was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
 
At this time, the identities of the victims were not immediately available.
 
Crews closed all westbound lanes of the freeway while they cleared the wreckage.
 
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection and CHP are handling the investigation.
