Passenger Dies after Car Rear-Ends Semi Truck on 10 Freeway at Monterey Avenue
THOUSAND PALMS, CA (October 10, 2024) – Arkeshia Holmes was killed in a rear-end accident with semi truck in Thousand Palms late Wednesday afternoon on October 9.
The fatal accident happened around 5:15 p.m. on 10 Freeway at the Monterey Avenue exit. According to the California Highway Patrol, a blue Honda Accord was traveling westbound on the freeway when it rear-ended the semi truck.
Arkeshia, who was a passenger in the Accord, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was a 42-year-old Desert Hot Springs resident.
The driver of the Accord sustained a major facial injury.
The condition of the semi truck driver was not immediately known.
At this time, the exact cause of the crash and factors involved are still under investigation.
