Bicyclist Dies after Crash with Car on Evergreen Street in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 23, 2024) – A 70-year-old man was killed in a bicycle accident at Evergreen Street and Cañon Street in the Roseville/Fleet Ridge neighborhood of San Diego.
The fatal accident happened around 2:38 p.m. on September 21. According to the San Diego Police Department, a 92-year-old woman was driving a Chevrolet Volt westbound on Cañon Street when she turned left onto Evergreen Street into the path of the victim who was riding his bicycle eastbound.
The bicyclist then hit the right-side rear door of the vehicle. He suffered significant injuries from the impact.
Responding paramedics rushed the bicyclist to a hospital, where he later died. His identity was not immediately available.
Meanwhile, the elderly female driver was unharmed.
