Woman Dies in Logan Heights Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on National Avenue

 
LOGAN HEIGHTS, CA (August 2, 2024) — A woman died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on National Avenue near 28th Street.
 
San Diego Police officers responded to the Logan Heights area of San Diego around 3:00 a.m. Thursday. Upon responding, officers learned that a 49-year-old woman crossing eastbound on National Avenue in a crosswalk was hit by a pickup truck. Subsequently, the driver continued southbound on 28th Street without helping the woman.
 
Emergency responders arrived minutes later and rushed her to UC San Diego Medical Center where she passed away. Officials did not release her identity.
 
Not long after, officers tracked down the vehicle involved in the accident, locating it near General Dynamics before impounding it for evidence.
 
Although authorities connected with the driver, they did not arrest the individual for unknown reasons.
