1 Pedestrian Fatally Hit by Police Car on Union Avenue in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 18, 2024) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a police car on Union Avenue near Casa Loma Drive.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the fatal pedestrian accident happened early Monday. While two officers received a call for service in the downtown Bakersfield area, their northbound vehicle struck a pedestrian on the road.
Subsequently, medical aid was provided to the victim who later passed away at the scene. As a result of the crash, one of the two officers suffered minor injuries. However, authorities will look into how this happened.
