Man Possibly Tied to Arcadia Theft Dies in Traffic Accident on West Maple Avenue in Monrovia
MONROVIA, CA (June 6, 2024) – A thief suspect died in a traffic accident on West Maple Avenue in Arcadia early Wednesday morning on June 5.
Around 4:30 a.m., officers received a report of a stolen package from a home in the 200 block of East Sycamore Avenue. The package was equipped with a global positioning satellite device. Officers followed its path into the city of Monrovia.
While attempting to locate the tracked package, the officers came upon a car accident in the 300 block of West Maple Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found the suspect and another person inside the car.
Paramedics rushed the suspect and his passenger to a hospital, where the driver died. His passenger was treated for moderate injuries.
Officers also located and recovered the stolen GPS-tracked package inside the vehicle.
