Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Semi Truck near Cadenasso Drive in Fairfield

 
FAIRFIELD, CA (April 25, 2024) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident near Cadenasso Drive and Beck Avenue in Fairfield on Wednesday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:00 a.m. on April 24, just southeast of 80 Freeway. According to the Fairfield Police Department, a semi truck that had just started moving in a private parking lot struck the female pedestrian.
 
When officers arrived, they spoke with a driver who said he parked his semi truck overnight and that the accident occurred as he was pulling away.
 
Responding emergency personnel pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
 
The victim’s identity was not immediately available at this time.
 
An investigation into this fatality is underway.
