Wrong-Way Driver Causes Crash on 280 Freeway near Highway 92 Killing One and Injuring Two

 
WOODSIDE, CA (April 24, 2023) – A woman died and two other people were injured in a wrong-way crash on 280 Freeway in Woodside Saturday afternoon on April 22.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:38 p.m. just south of Highway 92. According to the California Highway Patrol, 24-year-old Constellatia A. Martin of Campbell was driving a white 2010 Ford sedan north in the southbound lanes of the freeway when she crashed into a black 2019 BMW SUV heading south near Highway 92.
 
As a result, the driver of the BMW suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities only described her as a Caucasian woman in her 40s.
 
A 14-year-old boy was in the front passenger seat of the BMW. He was taken to Stanford Medical Center with major injuries.
 
Martin sustained minor injuries and was also transported to a hospital. She was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.
 
It is still unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash, and a toxicology report is pending.
