1 Killed in 3-Car Accident on Highway 160 in Rio Vista

 
RIO VISTA, CA (March 10, 2023) — One person died in a multi-car accident on Highway 160 near Brannan Island Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol South Division Sacramento office, the fatal crash happened around 2:00 p.m. Thursday. For unknown reasons, three cars crashed near the Brannan Island Road exit.
 
Upon arriving, a CHP South Sacramento off-duty officer found one person with major head trauma and having difficulty breathing. When Rio Vista Fire officials responded, they performed life-saving efforts, but the victim died. Authorities do not have the deceased person’s name at this time.
 
Authorities did not say what caused the crash or where the fault lies. No information on the victim was available, but an ongoing investigation should reveal more details.
