1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Head-On Accident on Highway 138 [Phelan, CA]

Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 138 at Gramercy Road in Phelan

 
PHELAN, CA (August 15, 2022) – One person died and another was seriously injured in a head-on accident on Highway 138 in Phelan on Saturday evening, August 13.
 
The accident happened around 10:00 p.m. at Gramercy Road about a mile south from Highway 2. According to the California Highway Patrol, one vehicle crossed into oncoming lanes and collided head-on with another vehicle.
 
Despite life-saving rescue measures, firefighters and CHP officials said that one person died at the scene.
 
At this time, the identity of the deceased was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, another person was taken by ground ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries.
 
The accident is still under investigation. At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol was involved.
