Michelle Plaketta Hospitalized in Broadside Accident on Highway 371 [Anza, CA]

Broadside Crash on Highway 371 in Anza Sends Mother of Four to Hospital

 
ANZA, CA (August 2, 2022) – Michelle Plaketta sustained injuries in a broadside accident on Highway 371 in Anza on July 15.
 
The accident happened around 7:19 p.m. at Kirby Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, Plaketta, her four children and their family dog were inside an RV when the driver of a pickup truck pulled out from a stop sign and attempted to turn left in front of their vehicle.
 
The RV broadsided the pickup truck and rolled over.
 
After the crash, Plaketta’s 17-year-old daughter and the dog were ejected from the RV. Her daughter and the dog were napping in the bed over the cab when the crash happened.
 
The girl suffered a broken toe and road rash from her shoulders all the way down past her waist. She was already released from the hospital.
 
The other three children in the RV sustained minor injuries.
 
Plaketta remains hospitalized in Palm Springs as she recovers from a broken leg. Her right knee was split open and she had injuries to her left eye.
 
Sadly, the dog was killed in the crash.
 
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
