Two-Car Accident on West China Grade Loop in Oildale Kills Man and Seriously Injures Woman

 
OILDALE, CA (July 13, 2022) – A 43-year-old man died in a two-car accident at West China Grade Loop and McCray Street in Oildale on Tuesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 9:38 a.m. on July 12 near North High School. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving his Chevrolet Silverado westbound on West China Grade Loop. At the same time, a 52-year-old woman was driving a Volvo XC90 northbound on McCray Street.
 
For unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided at the intersection. After they collided, the Silverado continued to travel southwest into a light pole.
 
As a result, the man was ejected and died at the scene. He was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics took the woman to a hospital with serious injuries.
 
An investigation is still ongoing. Officers do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
