Worker Dies at Construction Site near Ridgecrest Road in Victorville

 
VICTORVILLE, CA (June 24, 2022) – A construction worker died in an industrial accident involving equipment near Ridgecrest Road in Victorville on Wednesday, June 22.
 
The accident happened around 11:40 a.m., where Ridgecrest Road turns into Yates Road along the outskirts of the community of Spring Valley Lake. Emergency personnel received information that a large piece of heavy equipment had fallen on top of a semi-truck.
 
Responding firefighters found the male driver trapped inside the semi. After performing extensive extrication, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The victim was working at the Green Tree bridge project in Victorville. The project will ultimately connect the City of Victorville to the Town of Apple Valley via the Yucca Loma bridge.
 
OSHA investigators along with the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office will be handling the investigation.
