TAFT, CA (March 11, 2022) — One person died in a car accident on Lincoln Street at Cedar Street on Tuesday night.
The Kern County coroner identified the victim as 48-year-old Taft resident Robert Lee Workman.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle accident happened around 8:00 p.m. Workman drove a car southbound on North Lincoln Street near Cedar Street when it collided with a northbound car driven by another Taft man.
Workman died at the scene.
The driver of the second vehicle was injured but has been released from the hospital.
After the crash, authorities had to close down Lincoln Street for about an hour to investigate and clear the scene.
At this time, additional information is not available. The crash is still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. However, anyone with information should reach out to the authorities.
