E-Bike Rider Hospitalized after Santa Barbara Accident on State Street near Calle Palo Colorado

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (February 7, 2022) – A man sustained injuries in an e-bike accident on State Street, Friday afternoon.
 
According to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department, the incident happened on February 4, at about 4:00 p.m. An eastbound SUV attempted to turn left near Calle Palo Colorado. There, the vehicle collided with a westbound e-bike rider.
 
An AMR ambulance later transported the rider to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Authorities did not release the name of the victim.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
Emergency responders temporarily shut down affected areas to make way for an investigation.
 
Santa Barbara police continue to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
