Woman Killed in Train Incident under 57 Freeway

 
SAN DIMAS, CA (December 29, 2021) — A woman died in a train accident under 57 Freeway at about 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22.
 
According to Metrolink spokesman Scott Johnson, Train 326 bound for San Bernardino hit the pedestrian under the 57 Freeway overpass in a non-pedestrian area.
 
Sarah Ardalani of the Los Angeles County Department said medics rushed the victim to a nearby hospital. Medical personnel pronounced her dead at 6:37 p.m.
 
Officials described the victim as a woman in her 30s. Her identity was not yet immediately available.
 
The accident affected five other trains and 1,000 passengers, said Johnson.
 
Officers closed the tracks between the Covina Metrolink Station and Metrolink Pomona for hours.
 
Crews cleared the tracks at 8:28 p.m. and train service resumed.
