DUI Accident on Highway 137 in Tulare County Kills Passenger, 16-Year-Old Driver Arrested

 
TULARE COUNTY, CA (December 14, 2021) – One person died and two others were injured in a DUI accident on Highway 137 in Tulare County on Sunday before midnight.
 
The fatal accident happened on December 12, at Road 68. According to the California Highway Patrol, a car was traveling along the highway when it lost control for unknown reasons. It the crashed into an orchard, hitting several trees.
 
As a result, one of the car’s passengers died at the scene. The other passenger suffered major injuries.
 
The 16-year-old driver had minor injuries. Police later arrested them for driving under the influence.
 
Authorities withheld the identity of the deceased victim pending next of kin notification. Further investigation is underway.
