62-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured, Brian Evans-Kitchen Arrested after Sacramento Pedestrian Accident

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 15, 2021) – Authorities arrested 34-year-old Brian Evans-Kitchen following a pedestrian accident on Marconi Avenue, Thursday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on July 8, at about 10:35 p.m. Evans-Kitchen allegedly hit his Lexus into a Ford van and a Toyota Camry. Then, the Lexus hit a 62-year-old pedestrian near 80 Freeway.
 
Emergency responders later transported the pedestrian to a hospital, where he is recovering from a broken back and other significant injuries.
 
However, the Lexus driver fled the area with his 3-year-old son in the vehicle.
 
As per reports, a 911 hang-up call helped CHP identify the suspect. Officers located the home of Evans-Kitchen and arrested him on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, felony hit-and-run, and misdemeanor child endangerment.
 
Evans-Kitchen is currently free on $50,000 bail.
 
CHP will release additional information once it becomes available.
