SACRAMENTO, CA (March 8, 2021) — Officials arrested 43-year-old Careem Mayfield of Sacramento after a DUI accident on Saturday, March 6.
According to Officer Jim Young of the California Highway Patrol, a 67-year-old Nicolaus man was on a 1993 Harley-Davidson on 5 Freeway. He drove toward Highway 50 shortly after 9:30 p.m. when a 2009 BMW struck him.
The impact ejected the motorcyclist from his bike and fell into traffic. After that, a 2009 Honda Fit struck hit him. The man sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The victim’s identity was not yet available pending family notification.
