One Struck and Killed by Train in Accident at Churchill Avenue

 
PALO ALTO, CA (February 3, 2021) – Police confirmed that a trespasser was killed in a train accident at Churchill Avenue on January 21.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 3:40 PM.
 
Based on a report, the victim was trespassing on the Caltrain tracks at the time of the crash. Due to unknown circumstances, northbound train No. 261 struck the victim. It had 22 passengers on board and was heading for San Francisco.
 
As a result, the victim died in the incident. The fatality is Caltrain’s first of 2021. The victim’s identity was not yet released.
 
First responders blocked traffic from crossing over the train tracks near the Palo Alto train station.
 
It is unclear what the victim was doing on the tracks. At this time, an investigation into the train accident at Churchill Avenue is ongoing.
