Two People Suffer Major Injuries after Small Plane Crashes into Field near Highway 101 in Goleta

 
GOLETA, CA (January 30, 2025) – A man and a woman were seriously injured in a small plane crash near Highway 101 in Goleta on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The crash happened shortly after 2:15 p.m. on January 29. According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, the small private aircraft went down in a field along the northbound side of the highway, just north of Los Carneros Road.
 
Santa Barbara County Fire Department crews responded and found the two people on board with major injuries.
 
The patients, a 29-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, were taken by ground ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
 
No other information available at this time. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are handling the investigation.
