Teen Hospitalized after Bicycle Accident on Truxtun Avenue near Williams Street in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 29, 2025) – A 14-year-old boy sustained injuries in a bicycle accident on Truxtun Avenue, Monday afternoon.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident happened on January 20, at about 2:00 p.m. A westbound gray Toyota sedan reportedly collided with an eastbound bicyclist near Williams Street.
Emergency crews transported the teen to a hospital for treatment of severe injuries. As per reports, the victim remains in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the driver of the sedan remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Excessive speed and impairment were ruled out as factors in the collision.
