1 Hurt in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 5 Freeway in Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (December 18, 2024) — One person was injured in a multi-car accident on the 5 Freeway near the 80 Freeway Friday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-vehicle crash happened just before 7:00 p.m. For an unknown reason, a driver of a Hyundai rear-ended a Subaru, sending the Subaru across all traffic lanes before a big rig plowed into its side.
 
Following the accident, paramedics transported the unconscious Subaru driver to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
 
Detectives blocked the southbound lanes to investigate around 7:00 p.m. However, they did not release the ultimate cause of the accident.
