Motorcyclist Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 580 Freeway in Livermore

 
LIVERMORE, CA (April 19, 2024) — A motorcycle rider died in a multi-car accident on the 580 Freeway near Livermore Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly motorcycle crash happened around 11:00 a.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a motorcycle crashed into a small gray Nissan and a white Mercedes-Benz SUV. Soon after, CHP officers and paramedics responded to the three-vehicle crash to find the motorcyclist with fatal injuries.
 
Due to the motorcycle accident, CHP closed the first four lanes and the express lane west of North Livermore Avenue to investigate. Westbound traffic remained backed up for miles from Altamont Pass to Highway 84.
 
Meanwhile, the Alameda County Coroner responded to assist with the body. Authorities did not release the victim’s name at this time, and neither did authorities reveal what led to the crash.
