1 Dead, 1 Injured in Solo-Car Crash near Constitution Avenue in Stevenson Ranch

 
STEVENSON RANCH, CA (April 15, 2024) — One person died, and another suffered moderate injuries in a single-car accident near Constitution Avenue and The Old Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal solo-car crash happened Friday midnight. For an unknown reason, a 39-year-old Castaic resident made an unsafe turning movement in his northbound Subaru. Subsequently, the Subaru veered toward the left lane and crashed into a raised concrete center island before spinning out. From there, the Subaru plowed into a tree.
 
Minutes later, CHP officers responded to a call about a body lying in the lanes and a fiery crash. Upon responding, Los Angeles County Fire paramedics extracted the driver and took him to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital where he passed away. Officials did not release his name.
 
Meanwhile, a 23-year-old Castaic man suffered moderate injuries in the accident and was able to crawl out of the vehicle by himself.
 
At this time, authorities have not identified if impairment factored into the cause. However, if anyone has more information, please call local authorities.
