4 Hospitalized in Hit-and-Run 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 4 in Brentwood

 
BRENTWOOD, CA (July 30, 2024) — Four people suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run 2-car accident on Highway 4 near Lone Tree Way.
 
The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash around 1:00 p.m. Sunday. For an unknown reason, a driver of a dark-colored pickup truck with a trailer and tow made an unsafe lane change on Highway 4. Subsequently, this caused a Toyota Tacoma pickup driver to lose control and drive off the grassy center divider before the car overturned multiple times.
 
Meanwhile, the dark-colored pickup truck left the scene westbound on Highway 4.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded to find the Toyota Tacoma driver unharmed but his four passengers with severe injuries. All four patients were taken to a nearby hospital, including one who was airlifted.
 
Authorities have yet to identify if DUI factored into the cause. If anyone can help traffic investigators identify the driver involved in this accident, please call the CHP.
