Suspect Dies after Chased and Rear-Ended by Robbery Victim on Adams Boulevard in West Adams Area

 
WEST ADAMS, CA (July 1, 2024) – A thief suspect was killed in a rear-end crash at Adams Boulevard and West View Street in the West Adams area late Saturday afternoon.
 
The fatal crash happened around 5:28 p.m. on June 29. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the victim and at least two passengers were inside a vehicle fleeing the scene. The allegedly robbed a 21-year-old man, who got into a vehicle to pursue them.
 
The robbery victim rear-ended the suspect, who then struck a light pole.
 
As a result of the crash, the thief suspect suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities only identified him as a 32-year-old man.
 
Two passengers inside that vehicle got out and fired shots at the driver, police said. The two then got into another vehicle and sped away in an unknown direction.

The 21-year-old man stayed on scene and waited for police. It was not immediately clear if he was arrested.

An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
