1 Hurt After Big Rig and Car Crash on Highway 101 in Monterey

 
MONTEREY, CA (June 19, 2024) — One person was injured in a car and big rig accident on Highway 101 near Potter Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle accident happened around 10:54 a.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a driver of a white Honda merging onto the freeway veered off the road and crashed into the rear of a big rig. Subsequently, produce that the semi-truck was hauling spilled onto the roadway leaving the No. 2 lane of the highway closed.
 
Soon after, emergency personnel responded and attended to the Honda driver who sustained a laceration to his right hand.
