Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 in Mill Valley Leaves Motorcyclist with Fatal Injuries

 
MILL VALLEY, CA (September 13, 2021) – A motorcyclist died in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 101 Thursday morning.
 
The accident happened around 8:45 a.m. on September 9, just north of the East Blithedale Avenue off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident began when debris fell out of the bed of a pickup truck and onto the freeway at the crest of Alto Hill. The driver of the truck continued on.
 
The driver of a Mercedes SUV slammed on the brakes to avoid running into the debris. At the same time, the driver of the Jeep behind it swerved to the right, but could not avoid colliding with the Mercedes.
 
The motorcyclist also got involved in the crash and was thrown off the bike. Paramedics rushed him to MarinHealth Medical Center in Greenbrae, where he later succumbed to his injuries. He was not yet identified.
 
At this time, investigators are still seeking witnesses to determine how the motorcyclist got involved in the fatal crash.
