Zeeshan Khan Dead, Nipun Ajmani Detained in DUI Crash on Bay Bridge near MacArthur Maze

 
OAKLAND, CA (April 6, 2022) — Zeeshan Khan died in a DUI car accident on the Bay Bridge near MacArthur Maze on March 12.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal DUI accident happened around 2:20 a.m. For DUI-related reasons, 42-year-old Nipun Ajmani crashed his Honda into a BMW on the Bay Bridge near the MacArthur Maze.
 
Due to the nature of the crash, his 36-year-old passenger, later identified as Khan, suffered severe injuries and died shortly after.
 
However, important events took place minutes before the crash.
 
According to police, officers stopped Ajmani at a checkpoint after he rode as a passenger in an unknown vehicle. Subsequently, officers administered a breathalyzer test on him, learning that his blood-alcohol level read twice the legal limit.
 
From there, officers gave him a ride to his business in Berkeley, where he and Khan got into a vehicle and drove onto the Bay Bridge. From there, the crash occurred.
 
At this time, police have Ajmani incarcerated at Santa Rita Jail. However, the details of this crash, including the current condition of the BMW driver, remain unclear. If anyone has more information, please contact CHP.
