20-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies after Crash with Vehicle in Cathedral City

 
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (June 20, 2023)Zachariah Acosta was killed in a motorcycle accident in Cathedral City Sunday evening on June 18.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:13 p.m. at Date Palm Drive and 35th Avenue. According to the Cathedral City Police Department, Acosta was riding his motorcycle northbound on Date Palm Drive at a high rate of speed when a vehicle turning onto the same road from Royal Palms Country Club struck him.
 
As a result, Acosta suffered major injuries and died at the scene. He was a 20-year-old Cathedral City resident, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
 
The male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle involved remained on scene. He was unharmed and was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
