Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Caltrain at Rengstorff Avenue Crossing

 
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA (February 16, 2022) – Yuqun Yang died in a train accident at the Rengstorff Avenue crossing in Mountain View on Monday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 10:56 a.m. on February 14. According to the Mountain View Police Department, Yang was trespassing on train tracks when a southbound Caltrain #112 struck them.
 
Emergency personnel were at the scene and trains were being held on both tracks.
 
Yang, an 85-year-old Mountain View resident, suffered multiple blunt-force injuries and died at the scene.
 
There were approximately 30 people on the train, with no other injuries reported.
 
All tracks reopened and trains were moving as of 12:18 p.m.
 
The San Mateo County Sheriff is leading the investigation.
