Yonathan Acosta, Tyrece Sinkler Detained in Police Chase Crash on Atlanta Avenue and Newland Street

 
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (August 9, 2022) — Yonathan Acosta and Tyrece Sinkler were arrested in a police chase accident on Atlantic Avenue and Newland Street on Saturday evening.
 
According to Huntington Beach Police, the incident started around 5:15 a.m. Officers spotted a speeding white car leaving a neighborhood. Subsequently, the officer tried to pull over the vehicle, but the driver failed to comply and led police on a brief pursuit.
 
At some point, the car ran a red traffic light and struck an uninvolved vehicle, setting the suspect’s car on fire.
 
Two men inside the vehicle — 18-year-old Acosta and 22-year-old Sinkler, of Long Beach — who suffered minor injuries were subsequently arrested.
 
According to police, they found multiple stolen catalytic converters, a saw and numerous blades. Police officers booked the pair into Huntington Beach City Jail on felony charges.
