Yoav Maciel Dies in San Marcos Pedestrian Accident on Mission Road

 
SAN MARCOS, CA (February 16, 2022) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on West Mission Road at Las Posas Road on Tuesday, February 8.
 
Officials identified the victim as 29-year-old Yoav Maciel. According to the coroner’s report, Maciel was living a homeless lifestyle in San Marcos.
 
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened around 11:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, Maciel attempted to cross the street in the 1300 block of West Mission Road when he was hit by a Dodge Ram 1500.
 
Rescue personnel responded to the scene and Maciel was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
As for the 56-year-old Dodge driver, authorities interviewed him and ruled out DUI and speed as possible factors in the accident.
