Southwest Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident Kills Xavier Kennedy

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 9, 2021) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident at South Real Road and Apache Avenue in southwest Bakersfield.
 
The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 40-year-old Xavier Spain Kennedy of Bakersfield.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 10:00 p.m. Saturday, November 6. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a Ford Flex was traveling northbound on South Real Road when Kennedy walked eastbound across South Real Road at Apache Avenue directly in front of the Ford.
 
As a result, Kennedy suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The driver of the Ford stayed at the scene and alcohol or drugs to not appear to be a factor in this incident.
 
However, CHP officials are still investigating the circumstances of the accident.
