Hit-and-Run Accident on Cardiff Street Badly Injures Pedestrian

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 15, 2021) – A woman was seriously injured in a hit-and-run on Cardiff Street in the Jamacha-Lomita neighborhood in southeastern San Diego.
 
The accident happened just before 7:00 p.m. in the 1100 block of Cardiff Street, just north of Jamacha Road.
 
According to San Diego police, the 60-year-old woman was crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk when a southbound car struck her. The driver of the car then fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
The woman suffered a fractured pelvis, collapse lung and several broken ribs.
 
Police said the victim’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. They also added that the woman was wearing a dark clothing when she was hit.
 
The involved vehicle is believed to be a dark-colored SUV that was last seen traveling westbound on Carlisle Drive, police said.
 
An investigation into this hit-and-run is ongoing.
