Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident on West Olympic Boulevard near Overland Avenue

 
WEST LOS ANGELES, CA (February 17, 2021) – A woman died and a teenage boy sustained injuries in a two-vehicle accident on West Olympic Boulevard, Wednesday evening.
 
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident happened at about 5:14 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, two vehicles collided in the 10700 block of West Olympic Boulevard near Overland Avenue.
 
Emergency crews pronounced a woman trapped inside one of the vehicles dead at the scene. Authorities did not release the name and age of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, a ground ambulance transported a teenage boy to a hospital with moderate injuries.
 
The impact of the crash severely damaged one of the vehicles involved. Responders had to close at least one lane in both directions to make way for clearing operations and an investigation.
 
The Los Angeles Police Department continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
