Disabled Pedestrian Dies in San Jose Hit-and-run on Monterey Highway

 
SAN JOSE, CA (April 30, 2021) – A woman died in a pedestrian hit-and-run on Monterey Highway in San Jose Wednesday evening, April 28.
 
The incident happened just after 8:30 p.m. north of Curtner Avenue. According to San Jose police, the woman was using a walker while walking westbound across Monterey Highway and was several hundred feet outside of the closest crosswalk when a vehicle struck her.
 
The victim suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was not yet identified.
 
The driver that struck the victim fled the scene and still at large.
 
Police asked anyone with information on this fatal incident to contact the SJPD traffic investigations unit at 408-277-4654.
