50-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies in Late Evening Hit-and-Run near Hamner Avenue in Norco
NORCO, CA (July 11, 2021) – A woman died in a pedestrian hit-and-run near Hamner Avenue and Fifth Street in Norco late Friday evening.
The fatal crash happened just before 10:40 p.m. on July 9. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro heading south on Hamner Avenue struck the 50-year-old woman who was in the roadway walking east.
Paramedics immediately responded and tried saving the woman, but she died at the scene.
The victim has not yet been identified, authorities said.
Meanwhile, the involved driver fled the scene. Police arrested the suspect in Corona a short time after.
At this time, it remains unclear if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
