NORTH SACRAMENTO, CA (May 17, 2021) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run at El Camino Avenue and Clay Street in North Sacramento Saturday evening.
 
The fatal incident happened around 10:30 p.m. on May 15. According to the Sacramento Police Department, a vehicle struck the woman in the intersection and fled the scene before officers arrived.
 
Responding firefighter paramedics found the woman lying in the roadway with life-threatening injuries. They attempted saving her, but she died at the scene.
 
Authorities will release the victim’s identity once it is confirmed and family members are notified.
 
A description of the vehicle that fled the scene was not available. Investigators are searching through the area for any witnesses or potential evidence.
